This is the first year that we actually have to give out Valentine’s Day Cards since Capt. M is in preschool. He actually has two parties this year! I decided it would be fun to make the Valentines rather than buy them.

What you need

Wax Paper
Tissue Paper
Glue
Glitter
Ribbon

Cut the wax paper into large squares or rectangles. Slather the wax paper with white glue.

Tear the tissue paper into small pieces. Arrange the tissue paper on half of the wax paper. Add glitter if you desire. (Ignore the fact that Mr. B put some tissue paper and glitter on the second half of the wax paper in the picture below!)

Fold the wax paper in half with the glue and tissue paper in the inside.

Fold wax paper

Let the glue dry. When it is dry, cut into the shape of your choice! Since it’s Valentine’s Day, we cut out hearts.

When you place the heart in the window, it is really pretty with the sun shining through. You will have to take my word for it as I couldn’t get a picture for ya!

I then punched a hole in the heart and added a ribbon. I also attached a tag with the names of the kids on it since I didn’t want to write on our craft!
