Yard Sale Find: The Suitcase

suitcaseI (Litsa) am not an avid yard sale seeker but when a friend or neighbor is having a sale that I think there might be a treasure lurking, I attend the sale!?! Last Saturday, I visited a friend’s yard sale in search of clothes that I might fit into for the summer and/or upcoming fall. However, I only came home with one purchase—-two suitcases for $2.00! Both suitcases were in excellent condition! One had a company logo on it so I opted not to keep it either. I’ve offered it to a friend whose son is leaving for college late this summer—-or I’ll sale it a friend’s yard sale this weekend for $3 to get my money back on the red suitcase I’m using this summer!

This red suitcase has two working wheels and a handle in tip-top shape. It was a little dusty and had some grass in it but that cleaned right up when I was ready to pack it with travel items for my annual trip to Greece! I lined the bottom of the luggage with my freebies from deal blogs and Facebook promotions.

freebiesThen, I packed clothing items that were given to me and/or that I have worn out beyond keeping for everyday wear. These goods will all travel with me. My daughter and I will use them—and wear these clothes all summer. At the end of our vacation, we will give away what we haven’t used and toss what we don’t need back at home with us. Additionally, the suitcase is so cheap that we can even leave it behind too! Traveling light is always a plus….

And finding deals at a yard sale……delightful!?!

Are you looking for deals at local yard sales this season?
