4 Tips for Staying in Shape

A couple of months ago I wrote a series about my experience with the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. I wanted to update you all on my progress to getting fit. I have successfully kept off the eight pounds I lost! This is a huge accomplishment for me considering all of the traveling I have done recently. When traveling I don’t normally eat as healthy as when I am home.

So here are my tips for staying in shape:

  • Eat breakfast – Before I did the challenge I never ate breakfast. I now eat breakfast every morning and it usually consists of oatmeal. Eating breakfast makes it so I am not starving when it comes to snack time.
  • Drink water – My main beverage is water. I do drink the Advocare Spark Drink most mornings instead of coffee. Then it’s water for the rest of the day. I don’t like waisting my calories on drinks!
  • Eat smaller portions – After the 24 Day Challenge I found that I didn’t need to eat as much to feel full. The challenge helped me adjust my portion size so I don’t overeat.
  • Exercise – This is where I struggle! Even though I have a hard time doing intentional exercise; I do make sure I am active. Getting outside with the boys, walking instead of driving to the store down the street from my work and gardening help keep me active.
