bauer potteryMy favorite magazines stay buried in the rattan basket gathering dust until I (Litsa) can get my hands on them! I was glad that I didn’t toss this March issue of Martha Stewart Living. It was filled with spring’s enticing pieces. Along that line was the American Made spotlight of Bauer Pottery!

Bauer Pottery is known for its iconic American pottery. The rebirth of the company and its signature pieces of glazed earthenware is the labor of love for Janek Boniecki. In the 1990s, the avid collector of vintage Bauer pieces looked into reviving the business, which had started in 1885 and shuttered in the 1960s. The original molds were lost. However, Boniecki registered the trademark and began reproducing the line using what he calls “reverse engineering”—meticulously making molds from vintage pieces that he had bought or borrowed. In 1998, Boniecki successfully relaunched Bauer Pottery.

bowlsThe glazed earthenware is beautiful—-aesthetically pleasing in many different hues and would make the perfect addition to any American indoor/outdoor kitchen this season! Or maybe you (like me) may simply want to have American Made Bauer Pottery on your radar for flea market finds, yard sales, and/or a new purchase…….someday!?!
