Mr B Chicken Costume

When I was a kid, we couldn’t wait to for Halloween to go trick or treating. My mom always walked with us for safety. The streets were full of kids and I have many memories from walking door to door. Even five years ago when we lived in a neighborhood in California the streets were packed with trick or treaters. In that neighborhood we always ran out of candy by 7pm.

Since we have been taking our kids trick or treating in the last two years there seems to be less and less people out. My guess is that most people take their kids to organized events. I know times have changed and that safety is a huge concern. I still like the idea of taking my kids trick or treating, maybe just for nostalgic reasons.

This year I am considering taking them to an organized event at a church though. Since many houses were dark last year and it was long walk between houses giving out candy, maybe the church event would be more fun.
