Life With Boys: A Boy and His Dog

Capt. M and our dog Sydney have a special bond. Often times Capt. M wants Sydney to sleep in his bed- especially if it is a stormy night. Capt. M finds security in having Sydney snuggled up next to him. Nightmares have haunted Capt. M for years and I am glad he feels safe with Sydney. Some kids have security blankets, and some have security dogs!

And of course Sydney finds comfort in sleeping in a bed!

Normally Sydney sleeps at the end of Capt. M’s bed- curled up at his feet. The other night I went in to Capt. M’s room to check on him before I went to bed. What a surprise to find Sydney using Capt. M’s pillow and Capt. M at the end of the bed! Apparently Capt. M had moved to the end of the bed to snuggle with Sydney as he fell asleep. Once he was asleep, she made a smart move to take over the comfy spot!

Hubby and I have decided we will always have a dog. Not only do they bring joy to our family, they also provide security.
