Life With Boys: Neighborhood Watch

A couple of  weekends ago we had a lot of rain. I think it rained for 24 hours straight. The boys were stir crazy. Out into the rain we sent them to get some of the “boy” energy out.

A few minutes later I noticed the boys hauling items in their wagon. They were making a camp in the driveway positioning themselves for prime tractor viewing. Our neighbor was hard at work cutting down trees and using heavy equipment.

The boys stayed on their neighborhood watch for over an hour. They would come back to the house occasionally for a drink or snack. They would load up a backpack and ride their bikes back to their “camp”- a long 100 yards from the house!

We learned a week later that our neighbor was thrilled to have the boys watching! And it certainly kept our boys entertained and out of trouble! Their imagination and creativity amazes me!
