Nasturtium

A nasturtium is a type of flowering plant. We planted nasturtium in our vegetable garden this year since they are supposed to deter squash bugs. The nasturtium flower is also edible!

Capt M Nasturtium

Capt. M was helping me in the garden the other day when I mentioned we could eat the nasturtium flowers. He didn’t hesitate to try them!

He also picked a handful to bring in for our dinner salad! Both boys added the flowers to their salads. The nasturtium flowers are rich in Vitamin C. They have a floral with a slight spicy taste. It’s a great way to add a gourmet accent to your meal! It sure makes the salad look fancy!

Have you tried anything new this week?
