Organize My Life: Just Say No

Like most mom’s, I’m a multi-tasker. My days are full to the brim between caring for my family, working as a dental hygienist and working here on the blog. I am like my own mother, a workaholic. We don’t like idol time. If there is a spare minute, it must be filled with something.

Furthermore, if someone asks something of me, I have a hard time saying no. Even if I literally don’t have a minute to spare I will attempt to squeeze in one more project, one last email or a favor. Yes, I am a people pleaser.

Over the last year I have slowly learned that it is okay to say NO!

Yes, it is okay!

I am learning that I can’t possibly do it all. Sometimes I need breaks and most importantly my family needs me. I am trying, to step back and evaluate what projects are the most important to me. I have to evaluate what matters the most, what projects I really want to work on and what will benefit me the most. When I take the time to think about these things before saying yes, I am less stressed.

To keep myself from being totally overwhelmed this summer, I have had to say NO and I am okay with it. Maybe it’s that I am getting older and I have learned from my past or the fact that I am taking more time for myself lately. Whatever it is, I hope it continues!

If you are a people pleaser like myself, practice saying no every now and again. It will do you good!
