Spring Cleaning Confusion vs. Relaxation

Recently the Today show featured Solutions to a Laundry List of Washing Dilemmas which caught my attention! Thus, I quickly added this link to my file of files to revisit since I’m notorious for just getting the laundry done! I don’t think I ever slow down enough to think through laundry tips and variations of detergents until one of my favorite clothing items is ruined (Luckily,  this doesn’t happen too often.)!

However, before I had the opportunity to review this list of washing dilemmas and to come to some conclusions of what to do, I’ve received Real Simple‘s May 2012 issue that again caught my attention with its block letters A CLEANER HOUSE EVERY DAY! This front cover and the article The Definitive Cleaning-Products Road Test within the magazine further instigated a desire to investigate what products and procedures were best to this luxurious cleaner home routine!

However, I like my mother’s advice best, “Clean as you go!” When I walk by something in my home that needs my attention, I do it then. I pick up socks, toys, magazines, etc. that might be scattered about all along telling my husband and toddler that they should help too (mind you they are enjoying playing in their own separate ways—watching the news vs. playing with baby dolls). But when everyday cleaning piles up—–the dust bunnies go hoping or the smudges look like peanut butter, I call my cleaning girls to save me so that I can enjoy one more magazine, a cup of coffee, a little retail therapy, a blog, or just a lazy day enjoying my family!

What is your routine for Spring cleaning? Do have a favorite gadget or do you call the cleaning lady to help out?
