hunger fix

I (Litsa) came across an article, “Peeke Power”, in Prevention magazine this summer. I’m always interested in reading about health and fitness as well as others’ struggles with the temptation of food. I love to hear their inspiring stories and about their journeys.

Dr. Pam’s book, The Hunger Fix: The Three-State Detox and Recovery Plan for Overeating and Food Addiction, tackles food addiction with a plan to foil the brain’s pleasure hormones. It’s available on Amazon.com for $10.80 (remember that prices change with Amazon by the hour/day)—check the price before purchasing if you think this book will help you!

The positive language that Dr. Pam promotes will encourage you. In Prevention she said, “All activities of daily living count. There’s no question that when a woman has been taking better care of herself, she holds her head higher, has a greater sense of what she’s all about. Physical activity is the best “healthy fix” because it helps rebuild the brain from addiction and stimulates the release of the brain chemicals serotonin, which calms you down, and dopamine, which gives you reward and pleasure.”

As school routines return, choose healthy options for yourself and your family!

Encourage others around you!
