Registering for Rewards Programs

An easy way to get discounts and special offers is to register for rewards programs for places you frequent. Many stores and restaurants offer rewards programs. What I do is check out the retailers website and look to join their club or register for emails. I suggest setting up a “junk” email account for these offers as sometimes they will overwhelm your inbox. I have a specific hotmail account I use for freebies and rewards programs.

One rewards program I just learned about was My Starbucks Rewards. I have a weakness for Starbucks! I am thankful that the nearest Starbucks is 30 minutes away – otherwise I could easily make a daily habit of stopping in! I do reward myself each week with one Starbucks on the day I go grocery shopping!

If you register your Starbucks gift card, you will earn points towards a free refills, special offers and drinks. You will also earn a free drink on your birthday! I just grabbed the gift card from my wallet and registered in about one minute.

Another tip, make sure you register all of your store rewards cards online (think CVS, Kroger and Harris Teeter). I register all of my cards and have emails sent to my junk mail account. Every once in awhile I receive emails with special savings or rewards.

What are your favorite stores to register with? Have you found any great rewards programs out there?

    • Yes Hilary, using sites like Upromise or Ebates is a great way to earn money back on your online purchases. Personally, I love ebates because they send you checks every quarter!
