FYI,
Kroger may now stop accepting manufacturer coupons along with your ecoupons loaded to your kroger plus card. A friend of mine in the Tennessee area went to Kroger today and the cash register wouldn’t accept her paper coupons

Reply

2 Renae March 9, 2011 at 7:56 am

Hi TJ,
Yes, that is the official Kroger policy and that is why I do not calculate the paper coupons and ecoupons together when writing the matchups. Some stores still allow it- just depends on the manager!

It is frustrating since sometimes there is a better paper coupon to use and the ecoupon will automatically come off preventing the use of the paper coupon. For this reason, some people have stopped using ecoupons.

Thanks for sharing!

If you have them scan your paper coupons…then enter your card you will get better savings…that is how I do it at my local Kroger :)

Reply

4 Kit November 10, 2011 at 12:41 pm

Kroger doesn’t double coupons unless you have scanned your PlusCard first anymore, so be careful doing this!

Reply

5 Jennifer March 12, 2011 at 4:22 pm

My experience has been that the cashiers typcially override the system when a paper coupon doesn’t go through.

Reply

6 Renae March 12, 2011 at 4:28 pm

Jennifer,
Yes that is true at some stores. It seems that there has been a lot of talk this week that they are now changing that. Several people have reported that they are no longer pushing through the paper coupons if an ecoupon is used. Of course this all depends on the store!

Reply

7 Candace May 10, 2011 at 7:56 am

Yet, here is WV, they will not override to accept the paper coupon, when you have already used an ecoupon. Major Disappointment.

Reply

8 Sherri May 19, 2011 at 7:19 am

My store only takes one or the other also. Very rarely is the ecoupon better than a paper one in value. For that reason, I wait to hand over my card until after the paper coupons have been entered. If the cashier asks for my card I simply tell her I will give it to her at the end. They understand.

I’m just home from Kroger,
Powerade $0.88 each, buy 10 save $5 = $0.38c each :)

It’s official Kroger’s in the Louisville, KY area no longer accepts ecoupons along with your manufacturer coupons. What I don’t understand is how they are just going to stop without notifying? Some things at Kroger were cheaper because you were able to use both. This is such bummer.

Reply

11 Renae March 23, 2011 at 8:07 pm

Hi TJ,
I think this policy has been in the works for a long time now. Not all registers were changed over at all stores. It sounds like more stores are enforcing it now though. I know it is a bummer but there are still some good deals at Kroger!

At my Kroger (Mississippi/Delta Region) I was able to get the two bar pack of Olay bath soap for .18 using my $2.00 ecoupon and the $2.00 Olay coupons from the April P & G coupons. Needless to say that were on sale for $2.18. My store has the sale going through 4/19/11. Most site have this on sale at Walmart for $2.48.

I have question, if you take the sales paper for kroger into walmart with their new “price match” thing, will they honor the price? what if it’s a 10 for 10 deal? walmart here in lexington, ky will pretty much take any coupon

Reply

18 Renae May 4, 2011 at 9:12 pm

Hi April,
Yes, if you take the sales ad into Walmart they should price match. Here is the thing, it must have the price listed in the ad- no 40% off etc. It also must be the exact same item. I do not think Walmart will price match the Mega Event items though- but you could always ask. Most of the time 10 for $10 at Kroger means $1 each and no requirement to buy 10 products. However, I am not sure how Walmart will react to that. Just go to customer service and ask!

just found learning the words hope the Krogers here in Hartselle Al work some of the ways yours do in other states.

Reply

20 Renae May 4, 2011 at 10:12 pm

Hi Sara,
Yes your Kroger should be similar to mine in Virginia. I believe your ad is the Southern ad and mine is the Mid-Atlantic. Most of the items listed are the same in the two ads although prices may vary slightly. Let me know if you have questions!

This may be a repeat question but can I use my Lay’s coupon for the Lay chips ($2/2) and my free Sierra Mist coupon (wyb Lay’s chips) in the same transaction for the same product? I’m thinking no but I wanted confirmation. Thank you

Reply

22 Renae May 15, 2011 at 8:26 pm

Hi Tamme,
It is my guess that the coupons are coded to not work together. The wording is not clear though. Basically the one says you can get a FREE Sierra Mist when you buy Chips. The other is $2/2 chips. Technically, you should be able to use both. However, I am not sure if the register will beep or not. You could try it and if it doesn’t work just have the cashier take the items off your order. Sorry I can’t give you an exact answer!

Just wanted to give a heads up that my Kroger in Louisville, KY is selling the Wisk for $3.99, not $2.99! Disappointed that I couldn’t get the better deal!

Reply

24 Trina May 16, 2011 at 5:45 pm

Hi, Yes Kroger has stopped taking your paper coupons for the same item as your ecoupon. Now if you have say 1 e coupon for mustard and 1 paper coupon for mustard and you are buying 2 mustards then you can use the ecoupon and the paper coupon, 1 for each one. Hope that helps. I shop Kroger in the West Tennessee area.

Okay, I went to the kroger today for my planned shopping trip. I have to drive an HOUR one way to get there. First of all, the Daytona Deal is not buy 10 get $5 off, it is buy 10 get $3 off. Second, I had all my stuff planned out exactly because the last time I was at this kroger, they started limiting you to THREE like Q’s in a transaction. I was SO AGGRIVATED when i got up to the register and was told that as of TODAY, according to regional headquarters they are only accepting ONE LIKE Q and will only DBL or TPL ONE LIKE Q! So I had to restructure my whole shopping trip. OH! and I forgot to mention, they also don’t allow you to do multiple transactions either! You have to go put your groceries in teh car and then come back in and shop another whole shopping trip! I was FURIOUS! For example I had planned to buy 10 banquet meals and I had the 50/2 Q, well they would only allow me to use ONE Q at a time so I had to redo my whole darn shopping list and I ended up having to check out, go out to my car, come back in and start all over again SEVEN times! I really needed to do it 10 times to get everything I was wanting to use Q’s for but after doing that seven times and three hours later, I was exhausted!
HAS ANYONE ELSE HEARD OF THIS???? They are saying it was a new regional policy passed down today???

I saved every single one of my receipts and I am going to do an evaluation/survey on each one of them and complain about this. WHY have a sale such as this and then limit you to how many you can use a Q on?? They didn’t have a problem letting someone who wasn’t using Q’s buy 10 banquet meals and 10 cans of ravioli all at once so WHY do the couponer that way????

28 Renae July 3, 2011 at 7:46 am

Hi RuthAnn,
I am so sorry you had a bad experience. Did you ask to speak to a a manager? I would complain to corporate Kroger although each store does have the right to have their own policy. I have been very lucky that my Kroger has always been great about accepting coupons.

I have always had the mega event listed as buy 10 get $3 off- I am sorry that you didn’t catch that. I hope you have better luck in the future!

We have several Kroger’s within an hour to hour and a half radius and can usually see which one has the best deal as there are 3 seperate regions. It seems like we have gone through a contagious coupon policy restructering over the past month or so. First, Mid-Atlantic revised, then Central KY and then Cincinatti. We have one other store which is a little further but is in with the Great Lakes/Columbus Group. I would completely change stores, if there were other options that at least doubled coupons, but Kroger’s has the monopoly on the doubling in our area. And it seems like the service we were getting before these changes was sooooo much better. Now when I go to the store, I make my spouse go with me because the check out people have started being almost mean. I think the show about couponing has caused a lot of grief for those of us who have couponed for years because the stores feel like they are losing too much money. It makes me sad to think I will eventually have to pay full price.

Reply

30 Renae November 3, 2011 at 8:09 pm

Hi Lindy,
I am sorry you are having trouble with coupons! I do agree that the coupon show has created all sorts of problems. It is really frustrating since Kroger kind of did it to themselves by letting the show tape in their stores!

I am in the Mid-Atlantic region but we have two other stores in the area that double up to $0.99. Because of that, the Kroger stores here have not changed their policy at all. I feel so bad for you all that are having such a hard time!

I forgot to mention, there is a banquet meal q which makes them 19 cents each, a chef boyarde q which makes them .39 cents and a purex detergent q that makes the detergent 1.68 and then also a totinos pizza roll q so you can get more than just the q from the kroger card.

For the 50/2 banquet meals, and the 50/3 chef boyarde the link is

http://www.childhungerendshere.com/Html/EnterCode.html

and enter the code 63829897. You can also print these q’s (and the others that are also listed on this website) TEN times by hitting the back and refresh button (or you could this morning, don’t know if it’s a glitch that has been fixed yet or not)

There was a 1/1 purex q that I got from a package of travel 3 in 1 purex and there is also a printable for purex w/zout (which IS included in the deal because I bought it) at this link

http://www.freesamplepurex.com/thankyoucoupon/

Then the totino’s pizza rolls, I am sorry but I can’t remember what insert it came in, but it was for 40/2

Don’t forget your FREE country time lemonaid!!!! use the kroger card q which is good for 99/1 and the sale makes them 99 each so the country time is free.

Regarding using Ecoupons vs. paper coupons….if you use your paper coupons w/out using your Kroger card, they will not double your coupons (according to my Kroger) so because of this I will only load Ecoupons on my Kcard that would exceed the value of any doubled coupon that I can get for that product. Just thought I would give you all a heads up on my personal experience.

Sarah,
Most coupons that start with a 5 in the barcode double automatically. I just got back from Kroger and had no problem with this coupon code doubling.

So even if it says Do Not Double, it will anyway?

Reply

45 Renae October 30, 2011 at 3:29 pm

Hi Sarah,
Yes as long as the barcode starts with a 5. It’s just an automatic thing when the coupon is scanned. The ones that start with a 9 will not double.

I have never had a problem using do not double coupons at Kroger.

Hi Renae,

I would like for you to know the Coupon Policy has change in our area. It’s very, very strict! No more than 5 paper Manufacturer coupons, no more than 2 internet printable coupons. My concern is you are not going to maximize your savings. If anyone is interested in the new changes that took effect 11.20.11, please view my blog post. http://couponsaretrueblessings.blogspot.com/2011/11/important-update-on-krogers-coupon.html Thanks!

Reply

53 Renae @How to Have it All January 4, 2012 at 6:16 pm

Hi Dianne,
Kroger eCoupons are one time use. So once you buy a product and the eCoupon is credited, it will be off your card. Each eCoupon has it’s own expiration date- some are only good for a few weeks and others are good for months. I hope that helps and let me know if you have more questions!
