Break The Color Rules With Glidden Brilliance Collection

Glidden samples

As you all know, we have been on a painting mission this year. Our house is 13 years old and the walls originally had flat paint on them. Flat paint and kids just don’t go well together! We have three rooms left to paint- the master bathroom, the master bedroom and the kid’s bathroom.

I recently was asked to participate in a challenge- Break the Color Rules with Glidden paint. My challenge is to pick three different paint samples in colors I normally wouldn’t pick. That means no neutrals!

I chose to paint the master bathroom. Actually, I should set this straight- I volunteered hubby to paint the master bathroom! I just chose the colors!

The three colors I chose from the Glidden Brilliance Collection are Deepest Aqua, Sweet Tea,  and Truly Olive. I was really drawn to the Deepest Aqua- such a fresh and relaxing color. It reminds me of a tropical place! I usually like sage greens but decided to try olive green this time. As for the sweet tea, I just loved the name! The sweet tea is closer to the brown tones I like but it’s darker than I normally go for.

As you can see, our bathroom is a blank slate! I am looking forward to taking these very blah walls to a new place with lots of color!

Hubby painted the three samples on the wall next to each other. He picked the wall near the window so we could see the paint in the natural light.

In order- Sweet Tea, Deepest Aqua and Truly Olive.

I actually love all three colors and I am still undecided. Deepest Aqua is really bright but it’s relaxing. Sweet Tea is darker than I normally use but we do have the large window for natural light. The Olive Green goes with the decor in the master bedroom and fits with the earthy tones throughout the house.

Next week I will be revealing our paint choice with after pictures! For more information on Glidden, check out my shop details in the slide show below.

  1. Truly Olive! Truly!

  2. I like the olive the best – the other two would make good accent colors. Good Luck

  3. Ooh, I like all of them! They’re all so different from each other, too! I think the Deepest Aqua is the best but the Olive would be good if you’re going for a more tranquil scene. :)

And I actually do have a couple of questions for you if you usually do
