Glidden Break The Color Rules Finished Project

A couple of week sago I told you all about the Glidden paint testers. I picked three extremely different colors and used the testers to determine what color we wanted to paint our master bathroom. After feedback from some of you, we went with Truly Olive! I do love the other two colors though and we will be using them in two other rooms.

Hubby was very ambitious and placed the blue painters tape on the walls before I could snap before pictures! Plus, it is really difficult to take pictures in a bathroom. Anyways, as you can see our bathroom was very blah before.

When picking out the paint, we decided to go with the semi-gloss finish. For bathrooms, high traffic areas and kitchens you want to use a finish that can be wiped down and withstand moisture. Semi-gloss was a perfect choice for our bathroom and we like the slight sheen it gives too.

Hubby did all of the painting. I had the easy part- picking the colors! Hubby painted the first coat of Truly Olive on the walls one evening after work. Instead of rinsing the paint rollers, he stored them in plastic which is a big time saver. The next day he painted on a second coat. Thankfully the Glidden paint covered the walls well and a second coat was all he needed to do!

I love, love, love the paint color! Our bathroom went from blah and boring to nice and cozy. I never thought much about decorating the bathroom since it looked so dingy before. Now that we have fresh paint, I want to add some artwork over the jacuzzi tub and some decor.

We do have leftover paint too. The master bathroom only took 3/4 gallon of paint. Paint can make a big impact without spending a lot of money!

The $2/1 Glidden paint testers coupon is still available HERE and HERE but it expires 7/31/11. Print the coupons now ans score the testers for just $0.94. The 2 oz. testers are great for art projects with the kids too!

So what do you think of Truly Olive?
