Garden Update

It has been so hot here in Central Virginia! Sadly, our squash plants in our garden did not make it. I am really missing zucchini and yellow squash. Usually we are sick of it by now.

Some of the potato plants started dying so we decided to harvest a few. The first potato we dug up was itty bitty. I was a little concerned that all of effort was not going to pay off. However, the next potato was a decent size! We have many more to dig up but I came across an ant hole. I am waiting for hubby to assist with the rest of the potato digging.

We also picked a couple of golden bell peppers and a banana pepper. We have several more to be picked later this week. The banana pepper was mild and quickly devoured by Capt. M and Mr. B.

The tomatoes are coming on strong! I canned three jars of pasta sauce Sunday made with homegrown tomatoes. My boys have been eating tomatoes almost everyday too. They love the cherry tomatoes and Mr. B eats the larger tomatoes like an apple! Mr. B picked a green tomato so we will be trying fried green tomatoes for our Try Something New this week.

I would love to here about your garden and harvest!
