Food Donation Box

It is that time of year when food banks are in desperate need. Couponing has allowed me to give back to the community. We don’t have a lot of extra cash to give but I can usually roundup free items to donate. When you are out shopping look for non-perishable items that you can score for free after coupon. Even if they are items your family won’t eat, drop them off at a local food bank or shelter.

I know our local food bank (MACAA) is looking for the following items:

Rice
Macaroni and cheese
Spaghetti noodles
Macaroni noodles
Soups
Cup-a soup
Tuna fish and other canned fish
Dried beans and canned beans
Pancake mix (water only)
Pancake syrup
Spaghetti sauce
Cereal
Oatmeal
Canned string beans and other canned vegetables
Black eyed peas
Canned fruit
Applesauce
Canned white potatoes and canned sweet potatoes
Canned pumpkin
Hamburger Helper type kits
Thanksgiving food items: gravy, stuffing mix, instant potatoes
Dried and canned milk
Flour
Muffin mixes
Any other non perishable/non expired food items

With the economy the way it is, there are more people in need of assistance from food banks. Let’s help them out and show our support!

Thanks Melissa K.!
