How to Flavor Water at Home

Enhancing Water

I have been on a mission to drink more water. A few weeks ago I decided to stop drinking soda. I only drank soda 2-3 times a week but I noticed a little stomach upset when I did drink it. It was rather easy for me to give up since I feel so much better not drinking it.

Water can be rather boring so I have been adding a bit of flavor to my water with different fruits. Fruit gives water a really mild flavor but it provides enough to make it interesting. I like my water ice cold too.

Try adding one of the following to your ice water:

Strawberries
Orange
Lemon
Lime
Cucumber
Mint
Mixed Berries

Slice the ingredient and place in the bottom of a glass. Slightly crush the fruit to release the flavor. Add ice and water and stir.

Making your own flavored water is very economical. My boys think it’s fun too! Get creative and hydrate!

  1. This is a wonderful way to hydrate at home or on the go. In a restaurant that has a salad bar you can also use some fresh fruit or vegetable slices to flavor your water.
I have also gotten in the habit of carrying packets of lemon and orange flavoring in my bag with my bottle of water. No more soft drinks for me.

    • Hi Cherry!
Yes, I have tried True Lemon before! It is very convenient for on the go. I believe you can request a free sample on their site too! Thanks for sharing!

  2. Try frozen fruit from the freezer section of your grocery and it’s usually cheaper than fresh fruit. You can use the frozen fruit instead of ice to keep your water cold and flavored. I filled my bottle with filtered water and frozen strawberries the other night and walked 3 miles. So refreshing to have crisp flavored water while walking.

  3. Sounds delicious!!
