Try Something New: Pure Maple Syrup

On my quest to rid the house of high fructose corn syrup, I decided to switch to real maple syrup. My boys LOVE pancakes, waffles and french toast. Hubby usually makes one of those options on the weekends. Of course the boys favorite part about it is the syrup- which of course it my least favorite part!

A couple of weeks ago I swapped out the pancake syrup for real maple syrup. No arguments from the boys- they ate their breakfast as usual. Hubby says he prefers the pure maple syrup over the pancake syrup we were using.

Now, real maple syrup is not a frugal choice. I paid a pretty penny for the 32 oz. jug of Uncle Luke’s Maple Syrup – around $13 at Sam’s Club. If you can’t afford pure maple syrup, look for syrup at the grocery store that has no high fructose corn syrup. I know Log Cabin has no high fructose corn syrup and they have a natural version.

If you haven’t tried pure maple syrup, make sure to add it to your try something new list!
