What Works For Our Family, May Not Work For Yours

I write a lot about what our family eats, likes, dislikes, our traditions, our failures and our health beliefs. I write in hopes of inspiring others and helping you on your journey. What I want to remind everyone though is that what works for my family, might not necessarily be the best for your family.

We are all in different places with different priorities. As I was teaching a menu planning class last week talking about clean eating and homemade meals, I could tell I upset one participant. She said that her family eats out a lot and when they are home she often buys a frozen lasagna. She then said “I am sure you would never do that!”

Although I strive to cook as much whole foods as possible, there are occasions when we have packaged foods. I am a busy mom and not perfect!

And just because I try not to serve prepackaged food to my family doesn’t mean you are a failure if you do! Do what works best for you and your family and don’t feel bad about it.

Embrace our differences, stop the judging and live your life with happiness!
