AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge: Days 2 and 3

Today I am on Day 3 of the AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge and I feel good! This is still the cleanse phase and I have gotten the routine down pretty good. I am in total amazement that I don’t have cravings most of the time. Someone at work asked me if I wanted ice cream and I easily turned it down. It hasn’t been nearly as hard as I thought to cut out sweets, bread, dairy and coffee. At this point, I don’t think I will even add coffee back into my regular diet once I am done with the 24 days.

I have taken over hubby’s New York Yankees Tervis Tumbler! It’s the perfect size for my water consumption. It’s the 24 oz. tumbler and it keeps the water cold for hours. I aim to drink 3-4 tumblers worth of water each day and so far it has been pretty easy to do that.

The most unexpected thing that has happened during the last three days has been the positive impact on my family. As they see me eating healthy, they are starting to eat healthier. Mr. B (age 3) has asked to try the kale chips, roasted butternut squash and whole grain oatmeal that I have made for myself. Now this is a big change for him since he normally is not great about trying something new. He liked all three things! It’s a good reminder that kids really do like to model parents, not only in behavior but in eating habits too.

If you are curious to what I have been eating, here is my menu from yesterday:

Breakfast– 1/2 cup Whole Grain Oatmeal with Dried Cranberries (no sugar)
Snack– Larabar (These are great! No additives- just fruit and nuts!)
Lunch– Spinach Salad with Chopped Chicken Breast
Snack– Hand full of Bell Peppers and Hummus
Dinner– Tuna with Pickles (no mayonnaise), Roasted Butternut Squash
Snack– 1/2 cup Kiwi, Mango and Cara Cara Orange Salad with a few Walnuts

So far I have lost 2 pounds in 2 days! Yes, I know it’s just water weight, but it’s still exciting! If you missed day 1, make sure you read my AdvoCare 24 Day Challenge Day 1 post.

Have any of you used AdvoCare? I would love to hear your story!
