Plank burpee

A burpee is a full body exercise that will really get you in shape! Basically a burpee is a squat with a thrust of your legs into a plank position and then back to a squat position. If you do a burpee correctly you will be working the full body and it’s a great core exercise!

How to do a burpee:

  • Start in standing position with your feet hips distance apart.
  • Drop into a squat position (remember correct squat form!) and place your hands on the ground.
  • Kick your feet backwards towards plank position. Your arms should stay aligned with your shoulders.
  • Immediately return your feet to squat position. A burpee is a continuous movement, no pausing.
  • Stand up from the squat position and repeat. Start with 5 burpees in a row!

There are also numerous variations of burpees. Some people add a jump while others add in a pushup. More advanced athletes can do one armed burpees! If you are new to doing burpees, stick with the simple burpee until you have the correct form.
