Daddy Daycare: Camp Out

When I was growing up, my siblings and I spent many nights sleeping under the stars. My dad left a tent set up in the yard for most of the summer. Some nights we would sleep in the tent and others we would sleep out on the deck to watch for meteor showers. It’s one of my fondest childhood memories!

I was out of town this past weekend and hubby has a special surprise for our boys! They set up the tent in the yard and roasted marshmallows. It was the first experience our boys had with “camping”. Wanting to provide a comfortable camping experience, hubby brought the boys twin mattresses into the tent! This may have been for his benefit as he also slept in the tent!

With all of the mosquitoes here in Central Virginia, I doubt we will experience sleeping out on the deck. But I am so glad hubby has started the camp out experience.

If you can’t getaway to a campground this summer, try “camping” in your backyard. The biggest bonus is the house is right there for potty and cooking privileges!

Hubby is currently a stay at home dad to our two boys. Capt. M is 5 and in Kindergarten and Mr. B is 3 and loves staying home with daddy all day. Join us as we chronicle our journey adjusting to daddy daycare.
