Daddy Daycare: Stacking Wood

As I drove down the driveway on my way home from work I saw Mr. B out in the yard working. He had his little wagon that he was stacking wood in. We had eight trees cut down recently since they were dead at the top. Hubby has been cutting, chopping and stacking wood for a couple of week now.

One of the benefits of having hubby home with the boys is that he can teach them “manly” things. Now I am not saying that women can’t chop wood- I know my mom has chopped a ton of wood in her lifetime! Anyways, I am thankful for what hubby can teach the boys that I can’t. All the little outdoor chores and fixing of things that I have no clue about. It is so special that my boys have their own dad as their biggest mentor at the moment.

Obviously at 3 and 5 my boys aren’t out there chopping wood! But they are watching the process. They are learning by observing. Plus they think it’s so much fun to fill their wagon up and transport the wood across the yard! They are able to stack the wood neatly and they don’t even consider it a chore. Three cords of wood so far- and a lot more to go!

I think we are raising hard working farmers!

Hubby is currently a stay at home dad to our two boys. Capt. M is 5 and in Kindergarten and Mr. B is 3 and loves staying home with daddy all day. Join us as we chronicle our journey adjusting to daddy daycare.
