Luggage Bites the Dust

Melted Wheel

We just returned from vacation! We took ten days to travel through California visiting my family. On this trip we noticed that new luggage is in our immediate future. Well at least before our next trip!
Broken zipper

Out of five roller bags that we had on the trip, four of them are trashed. Most of them are missing the zipper thingy. Even my carry on roller has just a numb of a zipper closer! The pour TSA man had a heck of a time getting into my bag!

Broken Wheel

Two of our biggest bags have messed up wheels. One looks like the wheel is melted- like it was drug a good distance behind a moving vehicle. The other wheel has a chunk of wheel missing.

We also had handle issues. One roller bag with a broken carry strap and the other with a broken pull handle. It was a challenge hauling these broken bags through the airport yesterday! I had visions of our belongings scattered throughout the cargo area. I just prayed that the stayed intact until we arrived home. And they did.

But we are now on the hunt for luggage. Any recommendations for sturdy luggage? How about affordable sturdy luggage?

How funny! I traveled with a small pack of duct tape…hot pink…just in case we had luggage issues! But luckily one made it…the other I left in Greece! Less is more! Ha! Put duct tape on your list when suitcases are worn but sounds you needed extra sets of wheels and zippers!
