A couple of days ago I wrote about a couple of savings tips to be the best at grocery shopper. Today I have two more save more at the grocery store tips!

Tip #1: Enter to win one of $100 Gift Cards

Notice the surveys on the bottom of your receipts. Save the receipts to enter this monthly survey for a chance to win but furthermore to give your local grocery honest feedback. This week, I was appalled to notice a Kroger employee tossing bananas onto the top rack of the fruit display. I didn’t report this employee this week but honest feedback does help you, the consumer, who shops there. Take time to “thank” Kroger for what you like best too! Clutter-free aisles & added savings….

Tip #2: Keep your receipt in a secure location

This week, I needed my receipt to return salsa to Kroger. I didn’t notice the expiration date while shopping. It wasn’t until I got home and started putting groceries away, that I noticed the puffy plastic container. I checked the expiration date and it was a month old! I returned it to Kroger the next day with my receipt. I was refunded the full amount of the salsa (including the Kroger savings amount that I had saved). Thus, my time and efforts to organize my receipt paid off when I was refunded $3.00 (what I paid for the deli salsa) plus $1.29 (what I saved with my Kroger card)!

Taking little actions, can really add up to big savings. What are your tips for being the best shopper?
