Do you Measure or Estimate?

When I cook, I like to experiment. I try new recipes often but I almost never make the recipe as directed. Most of the time it is due to the fact that I don’t have the exact ingredients. I substitute and make changes based on what products we have on hand.

I also do not measure everything when I cook. For most of the herbs and seasonings I eyeball it. Since I have been writing up recipes for all of you, I have been a little more accurate in the measurements! But don’t be afraid to add a little less or a little more. Sometime the best meals are made through experiment!

Please note that for baking, you do need to measure everything. Baking is more finicky and requires accurate measurements for the best results.

So when you cook, do you measure or estimate?
