Kroger Shopping Trip: Minimal Coupons

Kroger Deals

I finally made it to Kroger! It has been a good three weeks since I shopped at Kroger and we were in desperate need of groceries. Unfortunately, my coupons are a mess again. With my work schedule, the boys sports schedule and summer fun something had to give. I did have a few free product coupons and a couple other coupons that my mom clipped and mailed to me. Yes, I am a little spoiled with my mom clipping coupons for me!

Overall, I only used 14 coupons and bought 65 products. That is not the norm for me as far as coupons go. I am happy with my shopping trip overall considering I didn’t use that many coupons! I did have a $5 Kroger gift card and a $4/$20 produce coupon which helped a lot.

I did buy the (15) bottled drinks for $10. These are great to take along with all of our summer activities. I also purchased a lot of produce, dairy items and 3lbs. of ground turkey. I also found several things on closeout: popcorn for $0.49, vegetable broth for $0.89, cookies for $0.99, whole wheat bread for $1.39 and whole wheat buns for $0.89.

Spent: $85.57
Saved: $75.38 (46%)

What I do when I don’t have a lot of coupons to use is compare prices. Generally I am not brand specific and I only buy things that are on sale. I design our menu plan around what is on sale and what we have in the pantry.

How did you do this week? Score any good deals?

  1. We have been making a menu since middle of May and it sure helps! Last week, I didn’t have tons of coupons either for Kroger, but needed meat. It’s on my blog. :)
