In the Kitchen

As a busy mom I know how important it is to make easy meals. My goal is to make easy meals that are also on the healthy side. I love to experiment with new easy recipes and incorporate them into my weekly menu plan.

I also post cooking tips that will help you save time and money in the kitchen. Every week, I like my boys to try something new in the produce department. A variety of fruits and vegetables is a good way to expand your child’s palate. My recipe index is updated each week with the latest easy recipes.

Roma TomatoesIn the warm months, we have a huge vegetable garden. The boys enjoy helping with planting and harvesting plus they tend to eat their vegetables knowing it is home grown. To preserve the harvest for the winter I freeze and can a variety of items.

  2. Good morning – I just saw your story on channel 12. I’m a Martins shopper and noticed nothing is posted on their couponing or fuel perks. I to have two growing boys and work fulltime as well. I have become very good at shopping the weekly ad to use the fuel perk program and double coupon program. There are many offers inside the offer additional savings. Two weeks in a row you purchased national brand and received their store branded item for free. There was also a program when you spent $25 in frozen you saved $10. Kroger no longer offers this advantage and fuel points are good for two months without maxing out on points. I often get free fuel! I have also been successful at Target with the coupon program they offer and the 5% savings offered thru a debit card. I looked forward to watching your site and getting new ideas. Thank you for taking the time to share your time!!

    • Hi Shelby!
Thanks so much for leaving a comment on my blog! I live more towards Charlottesville and we don’t have a Martins here. It sounds like they have a good program though! I really do miss the double coupons at Kroger! I find myself shopping there less and less. Have a great week!
