Healthy eating and exercise are a huge part of my life. A couple of years ago I made the decision to cut out as much processed food from my diet as I could. Clean eating is a goal not only for me but for my family. Along with nourishing my body with a proper diet, I strive to exercise at least five days a week. It’s a lot to manage while working full time and raising a family!

So guess what? Every once in awhile, I get off track. This was especially true during the months of November and December. With traveling, sickness and holidays; some things had to give. I took shortcuts with our diet. We have probably eaten out more times in the last month than we have in the year of 2014!

If you have fallen off track with your health and fitness routine, don’t beat yourself up about it. Life happens and sometimes we need to take a break from the usual routine. As my body began to fall victim to my lack of care, I was reminded of what I need to do in order to feel good again. I haven’t juiced in month. Juicing gives me energy and provides my body with essential nutrients. My plan is to get back on track with juicing this week. I also have been very lax with yoga and foam rolling. As I complained to my coach about a sore shoulder and a tight IT band he gently reminded me of my need to stretch and do yoga!

Instead of being discouraged with my backslide, I am setting things in motion to get started again. So brush off the the juicer, get that yoga DVD out, set your foam roller in the middle of the living room as a reminder and get back into action!

How about you; did you backslide at all during the Holidays?
