back to school color coding 1

For many parts of the country, the kids are gearing up for back to school. Our morning routine needs to be super organized since we need to be out the door by 7:10 AM. I’ve shared many back to school tips over the years but have somehow failed to mention my love for color coding!

I have assigned my boys different colors for their back to school supplies and gear. Capt. M (age 8) is blue and Mr. B (age 7) is green. When I buy backpacks, lunchboxes, water bottles, etc. I try to get one blue and the other green. The color coding is a great visual que when gathering up all of their gear on school days. With one glance I can see whether Capt. M is missing his blue water bottle or if I need to find Mr. B’s green lunchbox. The other bonus is that it makes it easy for the boys to look for their stuff.

By the way, the green Contigo Auto-Seal Bottle in the picture is one year old! It is still in good condition after being used almost daily. I really love that brand and I have ordered two more bottles for this year.

The waterproof Mabel’s Labels name labels are still in great shape after being on the Easy Lunchboxes and water bottles for a year. I highly recommend these products to make your life easier!
