Get Fit in February

There are so many fabulous motivators to get fit this year! Have you mapped out your fitness goals for 2015!?!

Neither have I (Litsa) but at forty, I understand that fitness is the piece of the puzzle that helps balance my days into weeks and my weeks into months—-and my months into years of healthy, energized days of living! I’m committed to eating clean, juicing to hydrate muscles/body, exercising 3-5 days a week——–and I want to encourage you to do the same too!

You don’t have to have a crystal clear plan. Find one picture. One phrase….that one item that will motivate you to move and focus on it. Use that item to encourage yourself to get fit in February. Unfortunately, you can’t get there in February….stay perfectly fit……and never have to think about it again. Nothing in life is that simple. But you can fit in movement in February and build up…..never stop once you find something you enjoy.

I enjoy walking outdoors. I walk alone. I jog. I change paths. I enlist a friend’s conversation. I jump. My daughter loves for us to jump on her trampoline together. I use fitness apps. I post pictures of healthy choices on social media to encourage others but mostly to encourage myself. In January, I used a calendar like the one above to ‘be committed’ to a ‘strength challenge’. Did I win!?! I wasn’t in a competition but I was faithful to exercising—lunges, squats, walking—-and most importantly: Resting. I used a pen, pencil, highlighter—-and a few coffee stains from my mug to cross off what I accomplished in January. You can too. Find a challenge you want to complete or just set aside ten minutes to move more each day.

Exercise with your family. Take up a sport like Karate or Yoga! There’s no formula that is the formula. What works for one, doesn’t work for another! Nor do you have to have a plan each month or each week. Take risks. Follow the weather and give in to exercising indoors or outdoors. Strapped for cash. No worries. I haven’t used a gym in four years but I’m in the best physical shape of my life. What am I training for?

I’m training for life—-being IN the best physical shape of my life matters to me for the sake of living the best life possible (without aches and pains, full of energy, motivated to meet life head on, stress-free, etc.). The pros far outweigh the cons. It’s a process; start today!

Don’t wait another hour–or month–to reroute your day to fit FITNESS into your calendar!
