It’s the perfect season to wrap up and enjoy a scavenger hunt outdoors with your family but if you’d rather make your favorite hot brew and stay indoors, you might enjoy making your own Pumpkin Pie Spice Recipe. From pies to granola bars to muffins, most sweet pumpkin treats call for pumpkin pie spice. If you don’t have any on hand, here’s what you need to make it yourself rather than adding one more spice to your grocery list.
To make about 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice use the following recipe. Of course if you need a lot of pumpkin spice, quadruple the recipe and save it in a air tight container for future use! Remember that it is time to inventory your baking supplies and spices.
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- ¼ teaspoon ground all spice
- ⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Mix all spices together.
